Recycler Problems
The recycler will reject unauthorized banknotes (of course) - but any type of jam in any section of the banknote handling path will also cause banknotes to be rejected.
Common solutions are provided in this article.
If new banknotes have been introduced in your region, please see this article for instructions on installing updated acceptor firmware to support the new local billset.
Common problems:
Check that your stacker/cashbox is empty & properly seated.
Check that your transport area access door is fully closed.
Ensure the anti-tamper device (vault module) is present & fully seated.
ERROR: ACCEPTOR SERIAL NUMBER MISMATCH
The chart on the pamphlet included with the accessories and documentation shipped with your BATM explains the RECYCLER LED diagnostic codes in more detail.

Troubleshooting:
1. Turn off the BATM!
Remove power to the entire BATM to prevent injury to yourself or other components.
2. Inspect the Acceptor Module (“head”).
Slide the yellow piece forward to unlock the clamshell assembly.
Inspect for debris. Gently clean the path with compressed air.
3. Verify the Vault Module is present & seated.
The PDF embedded in this article has detailed instructions for examining the vault module.
The security fob must be installed for proper operation:
a missing fob will result in a solid yellow LED lit, and Error: Acceptor maintenance door open
power off the BATM, reinstall the fob, and retry.
The access door must be fully & properly closed for the security fob to insert completely.
4. Inspect the drum area (Transport Module) for debris.
Be extremely careful when exploring the transport module. The tension bands may rip, and that repair is specifically excluded from warranty. It’s not unusual for bits of paper/debris to be found in the area - and you can safely remove them if they are obvious - but do not “dig”. It’s a trap!
The PDF embedded in this article has detailed instructions for examining the transport module.
The transport module access door must be closed for the acceptor to initialize. Make sure the access door is completely seated, and the “vault module” properly installed.
an open access door will result in a solid yellow LED lit, and
Error: Acceptor maintenance door open
This short video demonstrates opening the transport module:
Assembly is the reverse order. Don’t force it, and feel it all snap together easily.
5. Inspect the cashbox (stacker).
Check the feed gear for paper jams:
Check that the pressure plate inside the stacker isn't jammed.
The pressure plate should move up/down freely.
Try a substitute spare stacker box.
6. Lastly, if the common solutions don’t help:
Check all your Recycler connections: Acceptor: Connection Checks
The recycler and acceptor share the same connections to the BATM.
7. Still stuck?
Attach a picture of the BATM's Administration screen.
You may have to wait a few minutes for the Recycler data to register.
