Recycler Float Downs
Recyclers may need to be emptied/purged on occasion. Any banknotes stored on the drums will be ejected into the cashbox/stacker during this procedure. Purges (called a “float down”) are logged, and the drum contents will be reset to zero in both CAS and internally on the Recycler.
The log can be exported as a CSV file.
The Recycler Float Down Public ID can be located via the global search.
A “float down” would be performed:
before certain critical operations, like updating the Recycler firmware, or
when using a third-party agent to perform cash collections, or
when (for any reason) all the banknotes should be unloaded.

There are 2 methods of performing a “Float Down”:
a) Remotely (from CAS)
Navigate to the BATM’s ACTION menu and select “Recycler float down”.
See: Terminal Actions
b) Onsite (at the BATM)
Enter BATM ADVANCED ADMINISTRATION (instructions: Access ADVANCED Administration ).
Press CASHBOXES, then
press CONFIGURE CASHBOXES,
press RECYCLER - CASHBOXES, and
Float down all banknotes.
“Float down unknown documents” has the same effect, but is used to zero-out internal counters. This is useful in instances where internal counters were accidentally changed (absent a purge) and the banknote count is wrong.
