Install a GMKit in a GenMega model UK:

Step 1:

Turn off the ATM.

Step 2:

Check if all the cables have labels. If labels are missing, mark them with a port number to indicate where they were connected (or add your own labels).

Step 3:

Disconnect all the cables from the original CPU.

Step 4:

Remove these two mounting screws.

Step 5:

Carefully remove the original CPU.

Step 6:

Unbox the General Bytes GMKit.

Step 7:

Connect the integrated USB cables, and the power.

  • USB cables connect to the bottom four USB ports.

  • The order doesn't matter.

Step 8:

Install the GMKit into your Genmega kiosk.

  • Use the same screws to keep it in place.

  • Make sure to fasten any grounding cable.

Step 9:

Carefully connect the original GenMega cables into the proper USB ports, matching the cable labels with each GMKit port label.

Step 10:

COM1, COM2 and UPS are left disconnected.

Step 11:

Turn on the ATM.

Step 13:

Connect the kiosk to CAS.


Troubleshooting

This image shows a damaged COM4. To prevent this: put the cable straight in to the GMKit.

  • Inserting the cable at an angle can bend the pins inside the connector (damaging them).

  • If this happens you might be able to carefully bend pin back to it's position.

If you unfortunately manage to break the pin, there is a chance the device will still work correctly - because not all the pins are required.
