GMKit Unboxing and Installation
Install a GMKit in a GenMega model UK.
The instructions differ slightly for a model UK2.
The UK2 may include an (optional) dispenser.
Step 1:
Turn off the ATM.
Step 2:
Check if all the cables have labels. If labels are missing, mark them with a port number to indicate where they were connected (or add your own labels).
Step 3:
Disconnect all the cables from the original CPU.
Step 4:
Remove these two mounting screws.
Step 5:
Carefully remove the original CPU.
Step 6:
Unbox the General Bytes GMKit.
Step 7:
Connect the integrated USB cables, and the power.
USB cables connect to the bottom four USB ports.
The order doesn't matter.
Step 8:
Install the GMKit into your Genmega kiosk.
Use the same screws to keep it in place.
Make sure to fasten any grounding cable.
Step 9:
Carefully connect the original GenMega cables into the proper USB ports, matching the cable labels with each GMKit port label.
Step 10:
COM1, COM2 and UPS are left disconnected.
Step 11:
Turn on the ATM.
Step 13:
Connect the kiosk to CAS.
Troubleshooting
This image shows a damaged COM4. To prevent this: put the cable straight in to the GMKit.
Inserting the cable at an angle can bend the pins inside the connector (damaging them).
If this happens you might be able to carefully bend pin back to it's position.
If you unfortunately manage to break the pin, there is a chance the device will still work correctly - because not all the pins are required.
If the connected device doesn’t work, then please contact Support.
