Jams rarely occur in the downstairs transport unit, but it might happen on occasion. Always first check the acceptor recycler head (and connections), as statistically they’re much more likely to be the source of the problem.

If you can’t locate the source of the jam in the acceptor recycler head, then you should look inside the recycler transport unit. Be careful; the internals are delicate and recyclers aren’t cheap. If you damage it, the only option is to replace the entire recycler unit. Having uttered the mandatory warnings, here’s how you get in:

  1. Remove the retaining assembly,

  2. remove the cashbox/stacker,

  3. slide the outer yellow sleeve up,

  4. swivel the unit apart (hinge is on the bottom).
