Recycler Jams

First, see this article about acceptor problems: https://generalbytes.atlassian.net/l/c/cU0Sctj7

Jams rarely occur in the downstairs unit, but it might happen on occasion. Always first check the acceptor head (and connections), as statistically they’re much more likely to be the source of the problem.

If you can’t locate the source of the jam in the acceptor head, then you should look inside the recycler unit. Be careful; the internals are delicate and recyclers aren’t cheap. If you damage it, the only option is to replace the entire recycler unit. Having uttered the mandatory warnings, here’s how you get in:

  1. Remove the retaining assembly,

  2. remove the cashbox/stacker,

  3. slide the outer yellow sleeve up,

  4. swivel the unit apart (hinge is on the bottom).

Here’s a short video of the process:

Assembly is the reverse order. Don’t force it, and feel it all snap together easily.

  • power off the BATM, reinstall the fob, and retry.

  • The access door must be fully & properly closed for the security fob to insert completely.

The drum access door must be closed for the acceptor to initialize.

Make sure the access door is completely seated, and the fob properly installed.
