3. Inspect the Interface Module
The interface module Interface Module is a card that slides into a position just beneath the head. The card is not held into place with any screws or fasteners, and under certain circumstances - it could wiggle out. It also holds the gold electrical connections that connect connects the head to the headRecycler. Debris or damage to the pins can disrupt the electrical connections, causing a “hardware fault” error.
Inspect the gold pins for damage. They are very fragile and can easily be bent out of shape or broken. If they are damaged, the pins cannot be repaired (the module must be replaced).
Check that the card module is fully inserted. The edges of the card (identified by arrows in the picture) should be flush with the card bracket (as shown in the picture). If there is any amount of gap (and referencing the picture), push the card towards the rear of the BATM at the area labeled “PUSH”. No tools required. Do not use excessive force. If the card slides in, you’ve likely solved the problem.
